Didn't play much poker since my last post. Only 8 NL Hold em Sit N Go's, half at $5.50, half at lower buy ins. 4 cashes, no wins. Usually I play mostly other games (PL Omaha, Horse, Razz) on sunday's & monday's so I don't get burned out on Hold em so my level of activity is probably normal minus not playing at all on saturday. Only NL Hold em results will be added to my current results. I might start posting my results at other games at some time in the future. I think playing games other than Hold em helps improve my card sense & will help me in the long run in Hold em, but also give me a broader view of the mechanics of all games in much quicker order than just playing one game.
Floyd Mayweather won a close split decision over Oscar De La Hoya over the weekend. I had this fight extremely close on my scorecard late in the fight. After 4 rounds I had it even. After 8 rounds I had it even. Then as usually Oscar ran out of gas & Floyd took over and won 3 of the last 4 rounds. Floyd wins a title in his fifth weight division, stays undefeated at 38-0 & claims to be retired, but I highly doubt he doesn't fight again. I can see no way Floyd doesn't either a) fight Oscar again, b) fights "Sugar" Shane Mosley or c) fight Miguel Cotto (if he beats Zab Judah on June 9). Too much money for Floyd to make right now at what he does best for him to not take advantage of it.
Oh yeah watched the poker movie Lucky You over weekend too. It wasn't as bad as I had previously heard & while I wouldn't give it a thumbs up for movie fans I would give it a thumbs up for poker players. Lots of cameos of famous players & much more honest to the game than other poker movies I have seen recently. It doesn't surpass Rounders on my list of best poker movies in recent years due to a unbelievable romance between Eric Bana & Drew Barrymore. Robert Duvall steals most of the scenes he's in & was under used in this production IMO.
